Just wanted to post quick to let everyone know that I am ok. Had a
long day out with the Red Cross yesterday surveying the damage and
helping where we could. The damage is really bad on the south east
and east coast of Upolo. Going back out this morning. When I have
more time I will be sure to post some specifics. Thank you all for
your thoughts and prayers for the Samoan people during this difficult
time.

Looks like you will have plenty to do with the Red Cross now...the old "Be careful what you wish for", having a regular job to keep you busy, has definitely happened. Glad to hear you are all right!

Just found your blog. I am an RPVC. I served in Western Samoa at Wesley College (group 47).
Do you know if the village of Sa'anapu on the South side of Upolu is ok? My village Samoan family lives there on the beach. Lost touch with them a few years ago but did go back to visit 5 years after my service.
Glad you are ok, sounds like other PCV's there are ok too?
